This Week from Mitch

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope and pray that you are well and that your Christmas celebrations continue for days to come. I am a firm believer in the 12 days of Christmas; some celebrations simply deserve a little extra time.

I also want to thank the many folks who helped make this Advent and Christmas season a special success. Thank you to our choir, lay Eucharistic visitors, flower guild, readers, acolytes, altar guild, office volunteers, ushers, our deacon Dianna, and everyone else who helped to make our worship beautiful. You have each helped make this season one to remember. Thank you.

As we turn to the new year, I want to invite you to participate. Would you like to read at a service, help set up or clean up, help administer communion? Do you like to sing, would you like to participate in choir? Every area in our worship is open and ready for new folks to participate. Simply email me and I will help you get connected to the right folks. When you serve, you don't just help make worship happen, you also meet folks and deepen your connection to our parish home. This connection can and often does lead to lifelong friendships.

Again, as we approach the new year, please know that you are invited and welcome to participate. I have found that in the service of others, I often gain much more than I give. In this there is both a blessing and a lesson about God's love. It is in giving that we receive, and it is in loving our neighbors as ourselves that love grows.

In Christ,

Mitch
