Being formed in the faith

Children and Family Ministries is a vital part of life at St. Martin’s, overseeing a wide variety of activities from baptisms and our annual Blessing of the Animals to children's Lenten retreats and our Christmas pageant. Family ministries encompass children from infancy through fifth grade and their parents, including Christian formation classes and Chapel services. All children’s classes begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Commons building. Sunday School children are brought into the service to rejoin their parents just before communion begins.

Nursery - Birth to 3 Years - Nursery is offered in the preschool wing of the Commons. Nursery runs through the full duration of the 10:30 a.m. service, but many choose to bring their children to worship at the Peace so they can have communion too.

Godly Play - K4 to 2nd Grade -Godly Play is a Montessori-style way of teaching children the stories of our faith. It engages kids in what is most exciting: God inviting us into—and pursuing us in the midst of—Scripture and spiritual experience. Every story is told with kid-friendly props and toys. The Godly Play class is a wonderful place to be on Sunday mornings!

3•4•5 Class - 3rd to 5th Grade - is a place for these three grades to spend time connecting, discussing their take on life, and learning about God. We will follow the Episcopal lectionary, & spend time in the Bible & Book of Common Prayer, all the while using engaging, age-appropriate activities.
