Youth cook meal for military families at Camp Gravatt

Last Sunday during EYC, our middle and high school students worked hard in the Parish Hall kitchen to make dinner for military families at Camp Gravatt this coming weekend.

Gravatt’s Christmas Retreat for Military Families offers service men and women the chance to relax, reconnect, and enjoy holiday traditions with their families. St. Martin's Youth Group was offered the opportunity to help prepare a home-cooked meal for these families while they enjoy their retreat and they were more than happy to help out! They assembled four large pans of lasagna, garlic bread, and salads to feed the anticipated 110 people for dinner.

Through this experience, our youth had the chance to reflect on what it means to help others during this Advent season and to be thankful for those who have sacrificed so much for their freedom to celebrate their own Christmas experiences.
