Lead Preschool Teacher

St. Martin's Preschool is seeking both full-time and part-time lead teachers.

Under the direction of the St. Martin's Preschool director and the church rector, full-time and part-time Lead Teachers will provide quality care to children, creating a safe and engaging place for them to learn and play. Teachers will also partner with families to help and support them as they navigate the early childhood years. They will create and implement appropriate schedules and lesson plans in accordance with the policies of St. Martin's Preschool.

+ Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily classroom operations in accordance with the St. Martin's Preschool Handbook and DSS Licensing Requirements
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times
  • Provide a positive, nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom for children
  • Update parents/guardians on children's activities and discuss children's development and behavior with them
  • Develop lesson plans
  • Create a monthly calendar and newsletter
  • Develop classroom schedule and protocols in accordance with those of St. Martin's Preschool
  • Feed and diaper children as necessary
  • Clean and sterilize toys and equipment daily
  • Maintain accurate records on appropriate forms (daily sheets, incident reports, supply requests, student assessments)
  • Attend Staff Meetings
  • Complete DSS required training each year

+ Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience in a licensed child care facility preferred
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Job Type: Full-time & Part-time
