SERVICE TO OTHERS

outreach feb 2019

Local and global projects are among the ways St. Martin’s parishioners strive to live into their baptismal promise to love our neighbors as ourselves. We define this work in two ways:

Outreach: Service to people who are in need due to poverty, injustice, homelessness and related causes of human suffering.

Community Service: An activity that serves the community at-large. This could include service to the environment, animals, etc.

Service to Others work is overseen by the Outreach Commission, led by the Rev. Deacon Caitlyn Darnell. In the midst of the pandemic that work has included mask making, card writing for residents of the El Refugio Detention Center, food collection for Harvest Hope and growing a community garden that we will harvest to provide fresh produce for those in need in our community.

For more information, please contact Caitlyn, whose email link is available on the right.
