The Commons
We stepped out in faith and are so grateful that we did!
Commons from Winthrop

During the height of the Great Recession, members of St. Martin's stepped out in faith and decided it was finally time to "Build A New Space In A Familiar Place." And so, we bid farewell to an old and deteriorating Christian education wing and began the long and arduous process of raising funds, drafting plans and constructing a new building for Christian education and outreach.

The $3 million, 17,000-square-foot facility was dedicated along with some 300 parishioners on Sept. 7, 2013, during a great day of celebration. The building includes a spacious Youth Loft for our growing Youth Program as well as classroom space shared by the St. Martin's Drop-In Nursery and our Christian Formation programs. In addition, we have a large multi-purpose room and kitchen for smaller dinners and receptions as well as classes. We also have a dedicated Godly Play chapel space for our preschool and elementary-age children and a separate community room that can be rented for retreats and workshops, complete with a separate entrance, bathrooms and access to the kitchen.

The facility was named The Commons because it is owned by no one and shared by all -- a common gathering place for parishioners and the community as we attempt to live the bold life of faith our Lord commends us to live.
